Driving in the Highlands is one of the
attractions for many visitors who come here. The road link between
Ullapool and Inverness is very good and takes in some lovely scenery
and views.
We are approximately
55 miles north of Inverness on the A835. Car can be hired in
Inverness centre or at the airport that has links to most major
airports in the UK and some in Europe.
Inverness station is well linked to
UK towns and cities, and again car hire is available within easy
distance of the station. Similarly, bus links are regular to
Inverness and Ullapool - timetables should be checked as they change
in the summer and winter season to run in time with the Stornoway
ferry.
A lot of visitors to the village
choose to either make Ullapool a base for exploring the Highlands,
or choose to stop here when going around the Highland coast line -
this can be down in either direction from Invernes, taking in John
O'Groats and Cape Wrath. This route is also very popular for
motorbikes, many of whom believe the Highland roads are amongst the
best in the world.
The links on the right are intended
to help you plan your trip with us, and we will try and help where
possible if you require further assistance. |
